Financial Holds
Are you trying to register for classes or pay your bill and find that you have a hold on your student account? We are here to help you understand why – and what you can do to remove it.
A hold may be placed on your student account for any of the following reasons:
- Your balance from a current or previous term is overdue
- You have multiple registration deletions for non-payment
- Your account has been passed on to a collection agency
If a hold is placed on your account, you will be unable to register for a new term.
Viewing Holds
To view a hold on your account:
- Log in to MyPima
- Select Register and Pay
- On the new page, scroll to the lower left side of the page to the Quick Links section
- Click View Holds on my record
Releasing Financial Holds
The answer depends on the type of hold on your student account.
- Past due balance hold (for either the current term or a past term): You can remove the hold by paying your account balance in full. When your account is paid in full, the hold should be removed from your account within 1 business day. Pay off your account online through MyPima's MyAccountManager or in person at a PCC Campus.
- Multiple registration deletions for non-payment: Visit a campus Student Services Center to meet with an academic advisor.
- Collection agency hold: If your debt has been handed over to a collection agency, you will need to contact the collection agency to resolve the hold. Check the View Holds page (instructions above) to find the phone number of the collection agency.
- Contact Student Accounts Non-Pay Delete Hold: To remove this type of hold, please contact us.
Non-Financial Holds
A hold may also be placed on your account for non-financial reasons. View the hold to determine the correct department to contact. If you need help, contact a Student Service Center.
