
Federal Grants
Grants do not have to be repaid unless you never attend a class or withdraw from all active classes. All federal grants are awarded based on FAFSA information.
Federal Pell Grant
- Amount: 2024-2025 max amount for full-time: $7,395 (Fall and Spring)
- Who is Eligible: U.S. Citizens or permanent residents demonstrating financial need; undergraduates.
- How Award Is Determined: Eligibility is determined by submitting the FAFSA and the federal formula to calculate your Student Aid Index (SAI) number. The amount that you are awarded is based on your SAI number as well as your enrollment intensity per semester. Only undergraduate students are eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. Eligible students are limited to a maximum lifetime limit to receive the Pell Grant which is equivalent to 12 full-time semesters (600%).
- Enrollment Intensity: The number of credits the student is enrolled in for the semester determines the percentage of eligible Pell Grant for that semester. Use the Pell Grant Estimator to estimate the amount of your Pell Grant for the semester.
- Cancel/Reduce Pell Grant: You may decline or reduce your Pell Grant for the semester or academic year by completing the Federal Aid Cancellation/Reduction Form.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
- Amount: 2024-2025 max amount for full-time: $1000 (Fall and Spring)
- Who is Eligible: Undergraduate U.S. Citizens or permanent residents demonstrating highest financial need.
- How Award Is Determined: Must demonstrate exceptional financial need based on the SAI number. Selection is completed on a first-come, first-served basis. If a student is enrolled less than full-time the award will be prorated based on enrollment status: Limited funding is available.
- Students may only be eligible for one supplemental or special grant program per academic year.
- For example: A student who is awarded AZ LEAP may not be awarded FSEOG and vice versa.
