Pima for Youth

Pima for Youth offers year-round opportunities for students and families to explore college and career pathways through engaging, hands-on experiences rooted in Pima Community College’s high-demand programs and Centers of Excellence.

Through a mix of seasonal programs—including a robust summer schedule—and ongoing outreach during the school year, youth ages 10–17 are introduced to real-world skills, career exploration, and educational pathways that lead directly to Pima’s certificates, degrees, and industry credentials.

Our noncredit classes and enrichment activities are designed to:

  • Introduce youth to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) programs
  • Promote a strong college-going culture across Pima County
  • Build awareness of the education and training required for in-demand careers
  • Connect youth with instructors and professionals in the fields they’re exploring
  • Provide access to Pima’s campuses, labs, and partner sites across the community

Programs are led by experienced Pima instructors who create high-quality, engaging learning environments that motivate students to discover their interests and future possibilities.

Registration for current offerings is available online when open.

Check back often for updated schedules, application links, and event opportunities.

Pima for Youth class locations are open-door facilities. During scheduled class times, participating students are free to come and go at any time.

Pima Community College staff members do not give permission for participating students to leave class or class locations, nor do they insist that they stay. Decisions about when students arrive and leave, and with whom, are between the student and their parent/guardian. It is the responsibility of the student and their parent/guardian to determine, understand and enforce whatever arrival and departure times and methods they choose.

Neither the College or Pima for Youth are daycare or childcare facilities and state licensing does not regulate their operation. All parents/guardians are required to sign an acknowledgement of the Open Door Policy. This can be done via email and electronic signature, by FAX or hard copy via mail. The signed acknowledgement must be received before the first day of class.
