Tucson Festival of Books

March 9-10, 2024

The Tucson Festival of Books is a community-wide celebration of literature. Offered free-of-charge, the Festival exists to improve literacy rates among children and adults.

SandScript is the visual arts and literature magazine of Pima Community College and is published annually in the spring semester. SandScript is a showcase for the writing and visual art of the Pima student body, and highlights the immense creativity and talent of Pima students.

Basics of Short Story Writing (WRT126): Short fiction writing for beginners. Includes beginning fiction writing techniques, beginning critical responses to fiction, and beginning original writing.

Introduction to Creative Writing (WRT201): Creative writing and analysis. Includes creative writing techniques for fiction, non-fiction, and poetry; critical responses to creative writing; and original writing.

Introduction to Poetry Writing (WRT205): Writing contemporary poetry. Includes poetry writing techniques, evaluation and critical response to poems, and original writing. On offer Spring 2024, class starting 3/25/24. Also offered Summer 2024.

Short Story Writing (WRT206): Short fiction writing. Includes fiction writing techniques, critical responses to fiction, and original writing. On offer Spring 2024, class starting 3/25/24. Also offered Summer 2024.

Creative Nonfiction (WRT207): Creative nonfiction writing. Includes techniques of creative nonfiction writing, original writing, and critical responses to nonfiction.

Advanced Poetry Writing (WRT215): Includes continued focus on techniques of writing, evaluation and critical responses to poetry, and original writing. Also includes more intensive study of contemporary poets and poetry.

Advanced Fiction Writing (WRT216): Includes advanced techniques of fiction writing, original writing, and critical response to fiction. Also includes preparing manuscripts for publication.
