Religious, Spiritual, and Non-religious Expression

The College has a diverse body of students, employees, and community visitors who represent a wide range of religious, non-religious, and spiritual beliefs. The College encourages faculty and staff to be aware of the various religious observances and to support students and staff as they engage in those events. A calendar of religious observances is found here.

Additionally, for employees interested in learning more about various religious, non-religious, and spiritual beliefs below are some references. The College does not endorse any particular belief structure but recognizes and celebrates all diversity within the institution.

Religious Accommodation Requests

The College is committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive learning environment and workplace, free from unnecessary obstacles to academic and professional achievement. As part of this commitment, Students and Employees generally do not need any form of permission from the College to engage in their own personal religious expression, practices, and observances at the College as long as they do not interrupt College and classroom operations. Additionally, there may be instances when Students’ or Employees’ personal, sincerely held Religious Beliefs, Practices, and Observances conflict with generally applicable College policies, procedures, and other requirements.

To this end, the College will endeavor to find ways to provide reasonable accommodations to Students and Employees whose sincerely held Religious Beliefs, Practices, or Observances conflict with a College policy, procedure, or other requirement, unless such accommodations would create an Undue Burden, Fundamental Alteration, or Direct Threat. If you are interested in requesting an accommodation due to religious belief, practice, or observance that does not create an undue burden, fundamental alteration, or direct threat to the College, please complete the following form and send it to the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
