HECCP

Do you need childcare assistance? Funds are available for qualifying parents and children!

The Higher Education Child Care Project (HECCP) is funded by the Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) Division of Child Care through federal Child Care and Development Block Grant COVID-19 relief funds. The pilot project end date is June 30, 2024.

The purpose of the Pima Community College HECCP is to provide qualified childcare assistance to income eligible parents of dependent children from birth to twelve (12) years of age who are enrolled full-time or part-time in any program who attend Pima Community College.

Eligibility

  • Currently enrolled in-person or online full-time or part-time program at Pima Community College.
  • Meet the 165% of the federal poverty level.
  • Childcare must be licensed or certified by DES or refer to Arizona Child Care Resource & Referral website.
  • Children must be legally dependent, be twelve (12) years of age or younger and be United States citizens or qualified immigrants.
  • Students already receiving a DES childcare subsidy must use that before and HECCP will cover the copay.
  • Stipend will cover full or partial cost of childcare or an early learning program.

Program Requirements:

  • Meet with the Program Manger once a month by phone, email, or virtually to discuss any other services needed to be successful.
  • Verify attendance and status at Pima.
  • Report any changes in your enrollment at Pima to the Program Manager.
