Celebrate Our Students at HSE Graduation June 4
Pima employees are encouraged to celebrate our graduates at this year’s High School Equivalency Graduation, 6:30 p.m., June 4 at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall at Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.
If you or someone you know has recently passed the GED test and received their HSE diploma, and would like to attend, RSVP here.
If you have questions, email adulted@pima.edu.
@PimaNews Starts Summer Schedule
@PimaNews begins its summer schedule of every-other-week publication, starting today.
Please send announcements and news items – 75 words or fewer – to pimanews@pima.edu by noon on the Monday of publication week.
Feedback on Mandatory Advising Due May 31
Employees are invited to provide feedback on the College’s new Mandatory Advising initiative for new credential-seeking students, planned to start for fall semester 2026. Your input will help shape a student-centered and sustainable approach that supports student persistence, retention and completion.
Please complete feedback through this survey by May 31. This will inform planning, communication strategies, operational processes and cross-college collaboration.
Sign Up Your Teens for Pima for Youth Summer Programming
This summer, take advantage of Pima for Youth’s wide range of hands-on programming for teens 13-17 across PCC’s Centers of Excellence. Your teens can learn life skills and connect to a variety of College programs and careers through engaging one-day to one-week experiences. View programs here and register online.
Naloxone Stations Being Installed at Campuses
Over the summer, staff are installing stations at all Pima campuses that contain life-saving medication to temporarily counteract opioid overdoses.
The nasal naloxone will be in red boxes labeled “Overdose Emergency Kit,” in easy-open packaging with simple instructions enabling anyone to administer it.
Naloxone kit locations
- Red metal Overdose Emergency Kit beside every AED device
- Red Overdose Emergency box at every campus library front desk
- Red Overdose Emergency box at every campus student services front desk
Naloxone is highly effective to temporarily counteract overdoses of both illicit opioids (e.g., fentanyl or heroin) and prescription opioids (e.g., oxycodone, morphine or methadone).
If you encounter someone experiencing a possible opioid overdose, immediately call 911. Then, if naloxone is available, you may administer it if you feel safe and able to do so. PCC Police officers carry naloxone and are trained to assist individuals experiencing overdose.
The stations are provided by a PCC Police in collaboration with the Pima County Department of Health Services and Arizona HIDTA.
Request to Transfer Sick to Annual Leave by June 30
To encourage the practical use of sick leave, the College allows staff and administrators to request the transfer of up to 40 hours of unused sick leave to annual leave each June. All eligible staff and administrators have until June 30 to submit their request through this form. To be eligible, you must be:
- a regular, full-time staff or administrator
- have passed the initial hire probation period at the time of the request, AND
- have used no more than six days of sick leave during the fiscal year.
All eligible transfers will take place by July 31.
Check your sick leave usage for the current fiscal year, on the MyPima Self-Service Dashboard. Click on Full Leave Balance Information. Personal leave days charged to sick leave are not considered when determining eligible leave to transfer. For details, refer to Transfer of Sick Leave to Annual Leave in the Sick Leave section of the Employee Handbook. If you have any questions, please contact the Employee Service Center, esc-payroll@pima.edu.
Staff Professional Development Fund Applications Open July 1

Help Us Amplify Student Voices
Pima’s marketing is putting real students front and center to showcase their unique Pima journeys and let their voices shine. Know a student or alum who’d be a great fit? Encourage them to fill out this short form! They can share as much about themselves as they’d like and let us know which marketing projects interest them. With your help, we can feature more students and highlight the wide range of academic paths, interests and goals that make our Pima community so diverse. If you have questions, contact marketing@pima.edu.
Media Production Extends Turnaround Times
The College’s Media Production team is currently managing a high volume of requests during a period of staffing transition. As a result, turnaround times for new projects may be longer than usual, typically three weeks or more.
The team will make every effort to accommodate time-sensitive needs; however, expedited or rush requests cannot be guaranteed at this time. To help ensure the best possible support, we encourage you to submit detailed project requests as early as possible when planning upcoming work with specific deadlines.
If you have questions or would like guidance on timing or project planning, please email marketing@pima.edu.
Federal Work Study Position Request Period Open
If you want to hire a Federal Work Study student employee for your department for 2026-2027, submit your request here.
Before a position will be posted, the student employee supervisor must complete the mandatory FWS Supervisor Training.
If you have questions, email fws@pima.edu.
