Volunteers Needed for May 22 Commencement Ceremony
The College needs volunteers to help at the 2024 Commencement Ceremony on May 22 at the Tucson Convention Center Arena.

Volunteers are needed to assist in different capacities:

Guest Usher

  • needed 6-9 p.m. (some assignments may leave by 7:15 p.m.)
  • help ensure attendees find their way to the appropriate seating areas 
  • help point graduates to the check-in area and assist students during the ceremony

Student/Faculty Guide

  • needed 4:30-7 p.m.
  • direct arriving students and faculty to the appropriate check-in entry point

Graduate Check-in

  • needed 4:45-7 p.m.
  • provide pre-printed reader card to each graduate
  • direct graduates to the staging area for entering the arena

Benefits/Wellness Open Enrollment Presentations April 4
Sign up for one of the in-person Benefit and Wellness Presentations scheduled for April 4. The presentations will provide an overview of fiscal year 2025 changes, required actions during open enrollment and Pima’s Wellness Programs. See the locations and times here. These presentations are in preparation for our Annual Open Enrollment Period (April 8-22).

Annual Benefits Open Enrollment April 8-22
Open enrollment for the 2024-2025 benefits plan year is April 8-22. Benefits-eligible employees who want to update their current benefits elections may do so through the Online Enrollment Portal – MyPima, @Work, Benefits Enrollment link, starting April 8 (early submissions will not be accepted).

Onsite Benefit Fairs will be April 10
Onsite Benefit Fairs will be held April 10:

  • East Campus L101 Community Room, 8-9:30 a.m.
  • Desert Vista Campus F123 Community Room, 10:30 a.m.-noon
  • Downtown Campus CC180 Amethyst Room, 2-4 p.m.

Benefits Virtual One-on-one Appointments
Sign up for virtual one-on-one appointments with the Benefits Team staff, available throughout the enrollment period. More information will be posted on the Employee Service Center Open Enrollment page. If you have any questions, contact the Employee Service Center Benefits Team, 520-206-4945.

Simple Syllabus Training for Faculty
Beginning summer 2024, Simple Syllabus software will be available in all D2L Course Shells, for all CRNs. This tool is now the College’s syllabus system for all course syllabi. See the PCC Simple Syllabus Training Schedule - Spring & Early Summer 2024 for complete details about Introduction- and Intermediate-level training and Drop-in sessions. Pre-registration is not required. If you are a department lead or other coordinator and wish to schedule a group training with your faculty at a particular time (either a stand-alone session or at a regularly scheduled meeting that you hold; virtual or in-person), complete this form. West Campus Faculty Services Holding Canned Food Drive
Pima West Campus’ Faculty Services and Resource Center is hosting a Canned Food Drive throughout April to benefit the ARC Resource Center and Food Pantry. The most needed items are corn, beans, mixed vegetables, soups, peaches, oranges, mixed fruits, tuna, chicken and SPAM. Place donations in the blue bin at Faculty Services, A-215, 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays or 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays, April 1-30.

Climate Community Day
Climate Community Day is April 2. Everyone is invited to attend this all day event at Downtown Campus. It also will be livestreamed on the PCCTV YouTube channel, youtube.com/pcctvstream. The focus is on climate solutions, climate justice and community engagement. All sessions are free and open to the public. 2024 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals Open Pedagogy Faculty Fellowship
Applications are open for the 2024 U.N. Sustainable Development Goals Open Pedagogy Faculty Fellowship – for all Pima faculty through April 7. This global award-winning fellowship provides faculty with the opportunity to work with colleagues and students worldwide to impact change through open pedagogy and community engagement.

  • “Mata Ortiz – Pottery and Photography of the Chihuahuan Village,” through March 29, Visual Arts Gallery at West Campus. Free. Journey into the heart of Mata Ortiz, a remote Mexican village renowned for its pottery, as potter Jorge Quintana presents some of his pieces. Additional pottery from the collection of the Amerind Foundation and pottery from Tucson Museum of Art’s Mata Ortiz Collection will be exhibited. For more information, contact David Andres.

  • “The Oppenheimers: One is Dad, Dimensions of Engineering,” through June 7, Desert Vista Art Gallery at Desert Vista Campus. Free. This exhibit is a narrative of Ernesto A. Trujillo’s father’s tenure in the defense industry through mixed-media prints. His father’s military experience was marred by the quest for more efficient weapons, leading to haunting nightmares. Trujillo’s exhibition offers a glimpse into the darker aspects of innovation. For more information, contact David Andres.
