Automated Industrial Technology (AIT) is the behind-the-scenes tech that keeps modern manufacturing running — from robotics and sensors to smart machines on the factory floor. If you like figuring out how things work, solving problems and working with your hands and your head, AIT could be your perfect fit. Pima’s AIT program is designed for students who enjoy systems, diagrams and the science behind how machines operate.

You’ll get hands-on training in real lab settings and prepare for industry-recognized National Institute of Metalworking (NIMS) certifications — national credentials that open doors in advanced manufacturing across the U.S. Pima’s AIT program gives you options: start with a certificate, then build on your skills as you earn a degree and move closer to your career goals.

Whether you’re just getting started or ready to level up, this program puts you on track for a future-ready career that’s in demand, high-tech and full of potential.

Completing our Automated Industrial Technology program prepares you for careers like Electro-Mechanical Technician or Industrial Engineering Technician, as well as roles in:

  • Robotics
  • Product assembly
  • Electric vehicles
  • Defense
  • Manufacturing

READY, TECH, GO

Ready Set Tech Logo

As part of the ReadyTechGo network of Arizona colleges equipping students with the skills needed to perform high-demand jobs in advanced manufacturing, Pima offers a flexible Automated Industrial Technology (AIT) program.

The program prepares students to run the complex automated assembly lines of the future with courses that build upon one another. You could be job-ready in as little as one semester with your first certification. Then, continue your education, completing additional certifications and earning your associate degree in two years. ReadyTechGo works with major Arizona employers, such as Raytheon Missile Systems and Boeing, to deliver coursework that teaches skills employers need.
