Curious about how machines work — and how to keep them running smoothly? Pima’s Associate of Applied Science in Automated Industrial Technology gives you the hands-on skills to work with the advanced systems powering today’s manufacturing and industrial operation. You'll learn to measure voltage, current and resistance with a digital multimeter, replace pneumatic, hydraulic and electronic components, and use precision instruments to inspect parts to exact specifications.

You’ll also prepare for National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certification exams — credentials recognized by employers nationwide. Whether you're troubleshooting equipment or fine-tuning production lines, this degree gets you career-ready and helps you stay a step ahead in a world where technology never stops evolving.

What You Will Learn

Upon completion of the program, you will be able to:

  • Diagnose issues in automated systems related to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, motors, robotic and programmable logic controller.
  • Replace electrical, electronic and system components.
  • Operate a Digital Multimeter (DMM) to measure voltage, current, and resistance.
  • Replace pneumatic system components.
  • Operate precision measurement instruments and tools to measure parts and features.
  • Replace hydraulic system components and much more.
