Upcoming Student Peer Mentor Workshops
IT/Cybersecurity Peer Mentors (funded by a US Department of Education Title III HSI STEM grant) connect with CIS students, supporting transition into college at PCC, and specifically into the IT programs of study with college-wide campus & online resources, programs, and events that build interpersonal relationships and leadership skills for continued academic, professional and personal success.
Peer mentors provide academic and professional/career mentoring to PCC CIS students as they navigate new experiences at PCC. Peer Mentors answer questions, connect with learners to ensure they are adjusting to new experiences, and help to develop a sense of belonging. Peer Mentors also support the development of confidence and self-efficacy in CIS students. HSI STEM Peer Mentors are current PCC students who introduce new students to the college via tours, activities, and mentoring workshops along with participating in events and training in conjunction with the PCC East Campus Center of Excellence IT/Cybersecurity.
If you are a current PCC student interested in receiving notifications about upcoming Peer Mentor workshops, including those covering virtualization, system administration, programming, networking, and pentesting, please email us at pcc-itcysuccess@pima.edu and request to be added to our mailing list.
