Original Student-written Play Reimagines the World of Neverland, Oct. 1-4

Tucson, AZ — Pima Theater presents “Neverland: The Lost Shadows,” an original play written and performed by Pima Theater students. Co-directed by Theater Arts Head Chris Will and Dance faculty member Claire Elise Hancock, the family-friendly production combines storytelling, performance, movement and dance to bring a new chapter of Neverland to life.

The story begins before Peter Pan embarks on his journey to London. A mysterious plague has swept across Neverland, causing its inhabitants to lose their shadows. The brave Tiger Lily and her friends set out on a journey across the island to find the mysterious Shadow Snatcher. Along the way, they encounter unexpected challenges as they work to restore the magic of Neverland before it disappears forever.

“It has been an absolute joy to work with Claire and the dancers in the dance department,” Will says. “We have thoroughly enjoyed rehearsing this play, allowing us to combine acting and dance into one cohesive storyline.”

“Neverland: The Lost Shadows” offers a fresh perspective on a familiar story by shifting the focus to the characters who remain in the imaginary world. Filled with adventure, imagination and heart, this family-friendly production invites audiences of all ages to experience Neverland through new eyes while exploring themes of friendship, courage and belonging.
