Pima Fashion Design Presents ‘Playful Paradox,’ A Celebration of Style, Sustainability and Innovation, May 17
Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College Fashion Design Program is proud to present its annual spring runway show, “Playful Paradox,” on Saturday, May 17, at the West Campus Proscenium Theatre. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with an exclusive VIP Reception, followed at 7 p.m. by the runway show.
This year marks the return of long-time retired Department Head/Faculty member Nancy Spaulding and former Fashion Design graduate Savannah Franco. They will bring their signature vision and leadership back to the runway after a one-year hiatus. Under their guidance, “Playful Paradox” will spotlight the bold creativity of Pima’s fashion students — from first-year designers to advanced creators — alongside innovative collections from emerging local designers.
True to the program’s commitment to sustainability, the show features standout upcycled designs crafted in partnership with Goodwill of Southern Arizona. Now in its eighth year, this collaboration continues to encourage environmentally conscious fashion while pushing the boundaries of design through reclaimed materials.
The Proscenium Theatre will be transformed into a high-energy fashion hub that celebrates community, creativity, and conscious design. Guests attending in person can expect an unforgettable evening that challenges convention and celebrates paradox in all its playful forms.
Proceeds from the event help fund student achievement awards and program development.
