STEAM Family & Research Symposium Night on May 8 brings hands-on science fun to Northwest Campus

Curious about a future in science, technology, engineering, arts and math?

Bring the whole family to Pima Community College’s STEAM Family & Research Symposium Night for an evening of discovery, creativity and exploration.

The free event takes place Friday, May 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Pima’s Northwest Campus, 7600 N. Shannon Road [Map]

Designed for all ages, the high-energy event invites attendees to meet Pima students and faculty, participate in interactive activities and experience the excitement of STEAM firsthand.

  • Guests can explore hands-on demonstrations, build and experiment with engaging projects and view live student research and poster presentations.
  • The event also features community and industry partners offering unique learning experiences, from the science of fermentation to amateur radio, astronomy and more.
  • Pima departments and faculty will showcase a variety of activities, including biology experiments, engineering challenges and interactive science labs.
  • Representatives from the University of Arizona will also be on hand to share information about transfer pathways and summer engineering programs.

Whether you’re a student considering a STEAM career or a family looking for a fun and educational night out, this event offers inspiring opportunities to learn, connect and imagine what’s possible.

The campus also will be hosting an Open House event and guests will be able to meet with representatives from admissions and advising, student services and student life, library and tutoring resources, and academic departments and programs.
