These courses prepare you for entry-level jobs in optics and give you the confidence, knowledge, and experience to succeed in a fast-growing field where optical technology powers everything from lasers to advanced devices.

Courses

Build the skills needed for a career in the optics industry with hands-on training in light, lasers, and precision optical components. These courses prepare you for entry-level jobs and give you practical experience for high-tech careers.

Optics Assembler

Through hands-on training, students will master specialized techniques for identifying, handling, and cleaning delicate, high-value optical components. This program prepares students for entry-level positions as optics assemblers and handlers.

The program consists of two in-person classes, UAIT-140 Optics Science Fundamentals and UAIT-141 Optics Handling and Assembly, held at the Downtown Campus, 2nd floor, Room M250.

UAIT-140 will meet in person on Mondays and Wednesdays between August 24 - October 28 from 4 pm to 7:15 pm.

UAIT-141 will meet in person on Mondays and Wednesdays between November 2 - December 16 from 4 pm to 7:15 pm.
