Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Field Archaeology Certificate program, the learner will be able to:

  1.  Identify and classify archaeological materials.
  2. Create scale maps of regions, archaeological sites, features, and/or excavation units using appropriate methodology.
  3. Use archaeological field methods to discover and reveal information about archaeological sites.
  4. Use archaeological recording methods to document site locations, features, and artifacts.
  5. Identify ethical considerations in studying people and their cultural products.
