Medical Assistant


Master the skills needed to work in a medical office while preparing to take exams for licensure.  Students can specialize in medical coding and billing, in patient care, or can become qualified to work in both areas by completing both certificate concentrations.

What can I do with this certificate?

Career Options: Work as a medical assistant in physicians' offices, medical centers, urgent care facilities and clinics.  Upon completion of this certificate, students are eligible to take the American Medical Technologists' exam for medical assistants.

Academic Options: Complete additional certificates or degrees in medical administrative skills such as Health Information Technology or in patient care such as Practical Nursing.
