Program Outcomes - Dental Hygiene AAS

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Dental Hygiene AAS Degree program, the learner will be able to:

  1. Students completing the associate of science in dental hygiene qualify for admission to the national and regional dental hygiene examinations for licensure to practice dental hygiene in private, public health, and other dental  hygiene settings.

Program Effectiveness Data

For Academic Year 2012/13, PCC student pass rates for those industry examinations for which data is available are given below.

National Dental Hygiene Board:

  • Examination:  20 students tested, 18 students passed (90.00% pass rate)

Western Regional Examining Board:

  • Dental Hygiene Clinical exam: 20 students tested, 20 students passed (100.00% pass rate)
  • Local Anesthesia exam: 20 students tested, 18 students passed (90.00% pass rate)
