PCC Futures Conference Open to Public

February 3, 2014

Workshop will focus College’s strategic direction

Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College Futures Conference, a Feb. 18 workshop for the community to collaborate with PCC on its strategic direction, is open to the public.

“In the 21st century, as globalization and technology accelerate change in higher education, we need to build a strategic plan that can yield measurable benefits to the community and our students,” PCC Chancellor Lee D. Lambert says. “We know that such a plan cannot be formulated without incorporating the insights of the community we serve.”

At the morning-long conference, participants will break off into facilitated, small-group sessions. They will be supplied with a wide-ranging list of 18-20 trends affecting area education and economic development.

Their charge: distill those trends into four or five major initiatives that PCC can convert into a multiyear strategic plan.  The plan should comprise well-defined goals and measurable actions.

  • When: Tuesday, February 18, 7:30-10:30 a.m.
  • Where: Salons A-D at the Doubletree Hotel Tucson, 445 S. Alvernon Way
  • Cost: Free

Interested members of the public should contact by Monday, Feb. 10.
