PCC Offers Day, Evening and Weekend ESL Courses

January 24, 2014

Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College offers beginning, intermediate and advanced levels in English as a Second Language (ESL) classes to help students improve their language skills and prepare them for academic and occupational courses.

“Pima’s ESL program is designed for students that want to learn English, improve their English skills or prepare for college courses,” said lead faculty Nancy Hamadou.

Beginning and intermediate ESL classes help students with limited English proficiency learn the basics of speaking, listening, reading and writing with practical applications to daily life and work.  High-intermediate to advanced academic ESL classes help students prepare for college courses, certificate and degree programs and university transfer.

Pima also offers an American expressions and culture course, and beginning to advanced conversation, pronunciation and grammar courses to help students succeed in the job market, future academic studies and daily life.

“We offer classes with a warm, supportive atmosphere for learning,” said Hamadou.  “Our focus on active reading, writing and communication helps non-native speakers of English become more successful in their daily lives and reach their academic and career goals.”

Register now!  ESL classes begin January 28.  To learn more, call Pima Community College at 206-4500.
