PCC Fills Two Administrative Positions at Community Campus

Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College has filled two vacant positions in Community Campus administration.

Regina Suitt has been selected as Academic Dean for Adult Education. Regina has 23 years of experience in Adult Education, including service as Advanced Program Manager, Advanced Program Coordinator, Assistant Program Coordinator and Lead Instructor. PCC Adult Education recently hosted a visit by U.S. Assistant Secretary of Education Dr. Brenda Dann-Messier.

Kate Schmidt has been selected as Acting Dean for Online Development. Kate has served as Advanced Program Manager for Online Education, and has been involved in the Center for Learning Technology, D2L, curriculum development, grants administration and training projects.

“Regina and Kate bring a wealth of experience to their new positions,” Chancellor Lee D. Lambert said. “I am confident they will play important roles in leading Community Campus and the College forward.”

Ms. Suitt received a master’s degree in Education from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Iowa State University. Ms. Schmidt received a master’s degree in Public Administration from The University of Arizona and a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from the University of Vermont.

Their expected start date is Nov. 14.

Community Campus is one of six PCC campuses in the Tucson area. It is known as the College’s “virtual and distance campus” because of its oversight of online courses. Pima’s many non-credit course offerings also are based there.
