PCC East Campus closed Oct. 26-27 for cooling system repairs

October 25, 2013

Leak discovered Friday; campus expected to re-open on Monday

TUCSON, AZ – Pima Community College East Campus will be closed Oct. 26 and 27 for emergency repairs to its cooling system.

Contractors and PCC maintenance crews will work through the weekend to repair an underground leak discovered Friday at the campus, 8181 E Irvington Road. Because the cooling system will be off during the repairs and dry, warm weather is forecast both days, the campus will be closed and all Saturday and Sunday classes, events, and student and library services are cancelled.

The campus is expected to re-open for regular business and functions on Monday, Oct. 28.

The Halloween BooBash, co-sponsored by the College and City of Tucson, will be held as scheduled Oct. 26 at the William Clements Center.

Online classes are not affected by the cancellation and will proceed as scheduled.

The closure affects 15 credit classes and one GED class, and approximately 300 students in the classes. In addition, approximately 300 more students could be affected by the closure of the library and student services, and cancellation of another scheduled event.
