PCC Offers Pima for Kids Programs for Kids of All Ages

April 16, 2013

Tucson, AZ – Whether your child is a nature nut, sporty or an aspiring musician, Pima Community College’s popular camps offer something for kids of all ages and interests.  Sessions begin June 3 and continue through July 26.

Summer is just around the corner and now is the time to plan fun activities for your child or teen.

Registration for summer camps is taking place 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20, at the Foothills Mall, 7401 N. La Cholla Blvd.  PCC will have registration tables on the north end of the mall (near the entrance to the movie theater).  A 10 percent discount is offered when registration and payment is completed by May 15.

Pima for Kids offers morning, afternoon and full-day academic enrichment programs at Pima’s East and West campuses, Green Fields Country Day School and the Williams Clements Recreation Center.

Pima for Kids is the perfect opportunity to introduce children to the wonders of the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  Other topics include the arts, exercise and sports, dance, music, drama, cooking, forensics and more.  These innovative programs are designed to nurture children’s interests, introduce them to new ones, entertain and educate.

Pima’s Teen Scene program offers courses on topics including college prep, managing finances, career options, communication skills, technology and more.  Alive at 25®, a driver’s awareness course, and Teen Inventors, a course for those who have a flair for art, design, problem solving and engineering, are two of the many courses offered this summer for teens.

“These programs offer a fun way for your child or teen to pursue their passions and explore what they love,” said Maggie Romance, PCC’s Director of Instruction for Continuing Education. “It is also an excellent way for them to be exposed to the college atmosphere and opportunities.”

Pima for Kids has been offered through the Community Campus since 1997. For more information on Pima for Kids and Teen Scene, call (520) 206-6579 or go to
