PCC Graduation ‘One for the Record Books’

April 24, 2013

3,726 candidates for graduation – 102 more than last year

Tucson, AZ – The largest graduating class in Pima Community College history will receive degrees and certificates on May 16.

A total of 3,726 students are candidates for graduation at this year’s commencement ceremony – 102 more than last year’s record.

“Once again, this year’s commencement is one for the record books,” said Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Dr. Jerry Migler. “It’s a testament to our graduates’ love of learning, as well as to the work of the College’s faculty and staff, who provide the instruction and services that put our students on the path to success.”

The oldest Pima graduate is 70-year-old Enriqueta E. Fassler, who earned a post-degree Paralegal Certificate. The youngest is 17-year-old Stephania Vasilieva, a candidate for an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, an Associate of Science, Associate of Business Administration, and Arizona General Education Curriculum-B Certification.

Pima expects to award 5,807 degrees and certificates this year – another record. Many PCC students earn more than one degree or certificate. See the attached 2013 Class Profile for more details.

Graduation 2013 is Thursday, May 16, 2013, at the Tucson Convention Center Arena, 260 S. Church Ave.
