Policy Updates
Effective May 2, six related Board Policies (BP) and nine related Administrative Procedures (AP) will be moved into a new, more descriptive category entitled, “Section 11 - Public Health and Safety.” Each BP and AP will be renumbered accordingly. A list of these BPs and APs, indicating their old and new numbers are below:

  • BP 11.01: Drug-Free College (Old number: BP 2.20)
  • BP 11.02: Institutional Security and Safety (Old number: BP 8.05)
  • BP 11.03: Environmental Health and Safety (Old number: BP 8.06)
  • BP 11.04: Smoke-Free and Tobacco-Free Pima (Old number: BP 8.07)
  • BP 11.05: Firearms and Other Weapons (Old number: BP 8.08)

  • AP 11.02.03: Mandatory Reporting - Abuse of a Minor or Child (Old number: AP 8.05.03)
  • AP 11.03.01: Health and Safety (Old number: AP 8.06.01)
  • AP 11.03.02: Environmental Management (Old number: AP 8.06.02)
  • AP 11.04.01: Prohibition of Smoking and Tobacco Use (Old number: AP 8.07.01)
  • AP 11.05.01: Firearms and Other Weapons (Old number: AP 8.08.01)
  • AP 11.06.01: Workplace Violence Prevention (Old number: AP 1.15.01)

This change will only affect how these specific BPs and APs are numbered, where they will appear on the College's Policies Web page, and other minor, administrative adjustments intended to make them easier to locate and use, as well as to more accurately reflect how each BP and AP fits into the College’s current organizational structure. The substantive content of these BPs and APs will not be affected.

This change is being made at the direction of the Chancellor, in consultation with and approval of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). If you have questions, contact the Office of the General Counsel, legal@pima.edu.
