College Updates

First-round COVID-19 Vaccinations at Campuses Today, Oct. 4
Two more first-round free, no-appointment-needed community vaccination clinics, offered by Pima County Health Department and the College, are coming up:

  • Northwest Campus: today, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • West Campus: Oct. 4, 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

The clinics are open to the public, but Pima employees and students are encouraged to participate. Clinics providing second shots are being scheduled. Details are at pima.edu/getvaxxed.

Learn About All-Employee Representative Council
Did you know that the College has a council of your peers, known as the All-Employee Representative Council (AERC) that reviews and updates policy, and finds solutions to matters affecting work conditions.

AERC general meetings are open to all employees. You also may submit questions or concerns to any member or online using the AERC Comment Form. Learn more about AERC online.

Make Sure Your Unit’s COVID-19 Info Is Current
The College recently updated its COVID-19 Web page, pima.edu/covid19 to more focused content.

If your department has COVID-19-related content to update, email websystems@pima.edu (Web pages and MyPima) or marketing@pima.edu.

Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE) Needs Your Help
The College is halfway through the Survey of Entering Student Engagement (SENSE) administration period and the response rate is only 8.8%. Students were asked to participate if they meet the following criteria: are new to the College; are not a high school student; are 18 or older and/or are enrolled in a credit course this fall. SENSE results help Pima better understand the experience of students entering the College.

While class time is not necessary for this online survey, we need your help for this to be successful.

How you can help:

  • Encourage and remind eligible students to participate.
  • Explain the value of submitting their responses.
  • Let students know that, if they meet the criteria above, they may have received an email from pcc-feedback@pima.edu inviting them to participate in SENSE. Ask eligible students to check their Pima email, or please share the link https://www.cccse.org/SENSESurvey/pima. A prompt will ask them to provide their username (their email address before the @). Please note that if they do not meet the criteria and are not in the survey population, they will receive an error message if they try to enter the survey.

Results from the three previous Center for Student Engagement Surveys (SENSE, CCSSE and CCFSSE) are at Student Engagement Surveys. Frequently Asked Questions also are available. If you have more questions, email the Office of Strategy, Analytics and Research (STAR), pcc-feedback@pima.edu.

More Info Requested on Full-Time Faculty Sabbatical Proposals Due Oct. 18
The Faculty Professional Development and Sabbatical Committee has set the proposal window for fall 2022 and spring 2023. The deadline to submit a complete proposal is Oct. 18.

Note that recently, administration has requested that any faculty seeking a sabbatical explain the connection their proposal has to student retention and-or enrollment (as part of the section that addresses the value to the College). You can find complete information, along with a list of committee members, at My Pima > Employees > Intranet Guide > Academic Resources > Faculty Professional Development > Faculty Sabbaticals.

Submit Employee, Student Stories for Web, Social Media
