Unteaching & Unlearning Summit Is Sept. 7-10
The Faculty Senate Systemic Justice Action Committee and the Teaching and Learning Center are coordinating the first-ever Virtual All-College Unteaching & Unlearning Summit for Sept. 7-10. The goal of the summit, which is open to all College employees, is to bring together people to listen, share, collaborate, heal, feel, think, process, understand and work to solve problems. Any employee may submit a summit proposal using this Unteaching & Unlearning Summit Call for Proposals form.

New Group Fitness Classes for Fall Provide Variety
Mix, match and mingle your fitness classes this fall. Sign up for FAW100F1 (CRN 13089) or FAW100F2 (CRN 13090) for open access to a wide variety of group fitness classes listed under each CRN, such as yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, strength and flexibility, Zumba, boot camp and indoor cycling. The way it works is if you sign up for FAW100F1, a one-unit class, you will have access to two hours of group fitness classes of your choice per week. Sign up for FAW100F2, a two-unit class, and have access to four hours of group fitness classes each week. In-person and virtual options are available. Classes are open to employees, Pima students and the public.

Some FAW classes still will be offered separately – self-defense, belly dancing, running, golf, etc. Continue to use FAW110F1 (CRN 10928) and FAW110F2 (CRN 10929) for access to the fitness centers. Contact Nancy Gamboian, FSS Department Head with any questions.

Payouts for Annual Leave Offered
College employees who have not been able to use annual leave, do not want to lose accrued hours or who need funds to cover additional expenses may request a payout of annual leave – in one- or two-week increments – through the end of December. To request this payout, sign in to MyPima > Employee Service Center > Benefits and select “Annual Leave Payout Request.” Employees must have completed their new hire probationary period. If you have questions, contact the Employee Service Center.

Pima Employment Opportunities for Internal Candidates
Pima values its employees and wants them to advance their careers at the College. That is why some positions are open only to internal candidates. To view, go to MyPima > Employees > @Work > MyCareerCenter > View Internal Internal Career Site > Search. Part-time staff and adjunct faculty, refer to AP 2.02.01 sections 1.2.3 and 1.2.4 for eligibility.

Free Public Transit Extended Through Dec. 31
Fares on Sun Tran, Sun Link, Sun Van, Sun On Demand and Sun Shuttle will remain free through Dec. 31. The City of Tucson pulled ride fees in March of 2020 due to the pandemic.
