A Note to @PimaNews Readers

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, until further notice, @PimaNews will focus on recent COVID-19-related policy and procedure changes most affecting employees. These will be revised and updated as the situation warrants.

College Updates

Info for Students, Employees and Community on Pima’s COVID-19 Web Page
The latest information and employee notices at pima.edu/covid19 include a link to FAQs about the self-reporting requirement under the temporary COVID-19 personnel policies, plus a link the Employee Handbook.

College leadership is committed to communicate with you early and often during this uncertain time. However, they realize all of that information and details sometimes can be overwhelming. Chancellor Lee Lambert no longer is sending daily updates, but you can get the most current information on the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on the College at pima.edu/covid19, which also has a Student Notices page. Also, regularly check your College email.

For health-related info visit:

The Chancellor’s most recent communications to employees can be found online.

Returning Library Materials
Due dates on Library books and other items checked out this past spring were extended until Aug. 14, 2020. Automated notices were sent a few days before and a few days after this due date. Notices about the replacement costs for items are being sent for your information. However, no bills or holds on student accounts are being sent for processing at this time and no late fees or fines will be charged once the item is returned.

Return Library items to book return boxes located outside, near main entrances at Northwest, Desert Vista, East, West and Downtown campuses. Campus libraries remain closed to in-person services, though curbside pickup of materials is available at West Campus (see story below). Please be aware that items dropped off in book return boxes will remain on your account for several business days as they are quarantined for staff health and safety. After the quarantine period, items will be checked in and removed from your account.

Curbside Pickup for Library Materials
Curbside pickup for library materials is available at West Campus. You may request circulating items (e.g., books and media) from any campus library through the Library’s online system. When items you have requested are ready, you’ll be able to schedule a convenient no-contact pick-up time at West Campus. Please allow time for extra processing and transportation as normal campus operations have not yet resumed. Campus library spaces remain closed for all other in-person services. Please follow this link for detailed procedures: https://libguides.pima.edu/c.php?g=1012440&p=7632993.

Faculty Services and Resource Centers Available Virtually
Campus staff from the Faculty Resource centers and Campus Resource centers are available to assist you. Faculty services and resource centers also have new contact information, Faculty-Services@pima.edu and 520-206-6511.

Donate Annual or Sick Leave to Pool
Consider helping your colleagues by donating your excess sick or annual leave to the College’s Donated Leave Bank. Donation limits apply. Your donations will help support Pima employees who are out due to an FMLA-qualifying reason. Donations are anonymous and cannot be returned to the donor. Only the period of medical and parental FMLA that issupported by medical certification is eligible for donated leave. Email completed donation forms or questions to Employee Service Center, esc@pima.edu.
