With Aisha Sabatini Sloan

This weekend workshop is led by a professional writer and offers focused, intensive exploration of poetry writing with a variety of activities and lots of hands-on practice.

Aisha Sabatini Sloan's work has appeared in Ninth Letter, Identity Theory, Michigan Quarterly Review, Terrain.org, Callaloo, The Southern Review, Sierra Nevada Review and Guernica. Her essay collection, The Fluency of Light: Coming of Age in a Theater of Black and White was published by the University of Iowa Press in 2013. She was a finalist for the inaugural Write-A-House contest in Detroit, and a nonfiction finalist for the Disquiet Literary Prize. She is a contributing editor for Guernica: A Magazine of Art & Politics.

Workshop schedule
  • Friday 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (plus writing on your own Saturday evening)
  • Sunday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Cost and credit for each workshop
  • 2 credits (Writing 298T2, CRN 22557) .
  • $151 + $26 fees (Arizona residents)
