With Aisha Sabatini Sloan

This weekend workshop is led by a professional writer and offers focused, intensive exploration of poetry writing with a variety of activities and lots of hands-on practice.

Aisha Sabatini Sloan's work has appeared in Ninth Letter, Identity Theory, Michigan Quarterly Review,, Callaloo, The Southern Review, Sierra Nevada Review and Guernica. Her essay collection, The Fluency of Light: Coming of Age in a Theater of Black and White was published by the University of Iowa Press in 2013. She was a finalist for the inaugural Write-A-House contest in Detroit, and a nonfiction finalist for the Disquiet Literary Prize. She is a contributing editor for Guernica: A Magazine of Art & Politics.

Workshop schedule
  • Friday 6 - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (plus writing on your own Saturday evening)
  • Sunday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Cost and credit for each workshop
  • 2 credits (Writing 298T2, CRN 22557) .
  • $151 + $26 fees (Arizona residents)
