Assumed Practices Monitoring Report

Communication sent to employees on July 29, 2013 by Provost Jerry Migler announcing that the Assumed Practices Monitoring Report has been posted.

We are pleased to report that PCC has submitted its Monitoring Report regarding Assumed Practices A.4. and B.2.c. to the HLC. The Monitoring Report is accessible online. (Click here for access to Monitoring Report.)

On July 3, PCC posted a draft of the report online and invited the public to share insights through an accompanying online survey. A total of 132 comments were received, most coming via the survey and others as heavily annotated paper copies of the report, or multipage commentaries. The final 26,000-word Monitoring Report also included a list of recent improvements the College has made, including restoring its open admissions policy.

Many comments came from members of the College community, and I thank those employees for taking the time and effort to comment, make suggestions and help us produce the best-possible report.

Please remember that the Monitoring Report is our “plan” to address the HLC’s concerns related to Assumed Practices A.4 and B.2.c.  We are not done. We still need to implement the actions identified in the Monitoring Report prior to the submission of our institutional Self-Study in July, 2014.

The Writing Team for the Monitoring Report deserves special recognition.  The team members devoted considerable time and effort in developing a report that is factual, sincere and oriented at problem-solving.  The Writing Team members are Dolores Duran-Cerda, Duff Galda, Rachelle Howell, Alison Colter-Mack, Lorraine Morales, and Paul Schwalbach. Please join me in thanking them for their work.
