Licensing requirements, the application process, business classifications, tax rates, Use tax, Withholding tax, and general taxability issues are discussed. Bonita Ave. This workshop covers specific taxability issues within the Contracting Classification. Deductions and exemptions for contractors are thoroughly defined and discussed. Arizona Revised Statutes, Arizona Administrative code, exemption certificates (form 5000 and form 5005), tax rate tables, program vs. non-program cities, and Use tax will be covered in this course. It is strongly recommended that this class be taken PRIOR to the TPT workshop. Current dates and on line registration at www.azdor.gov or phone 1-877-863-0655. The determination of tax rates and the use of various forms will be explained. Sample problems and factoring worksheets are provided for a better understanding of the reporting process. Some of the specific documents covered include the tax rate tables, TPT return, and exemption certificates (form 5000 and form 5005). A calculator is a must! Refund requests are generally processed within four weeks.
- To be considered, requests for refunds must be received at least five working days before the class begins; no refunds will be issued once the class starts.
- Computer classes, workshops with paid guest speakers, and workshops co-hosted with other organizations cannot be refunded as the SBDC must cover administrative, software, and instructor fees.
