Arizona General Education Curriculum (AGEC) - Certificate

Complete lower-division general education requirements that are mandatory for transfer to UA, NAU, ASU or the University of Phoenix.  Complete this program exclusively on weekdays, exclusively on evenings/weekends, or in a combination of daytime, evening and weekend classes.

The AGEC-A (Arts), AGEC-B (Business) , and AGEC-S (Sciences) have the same categories and total number of credits.  They differ in the number of credits required for each category, and some of the specific courses required.

It is strongly recommended that students complete the Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine ArtsAssociate of Business Administration, or Associate of Science degrees before transferring.

The combination of WRT 101 and 102 or WRT 107 and 108.

Humanities and Fine Arts
At least one course from the Art list and one course from the Humanities/Historical Perspectives list.

Biological & Physical Sciences
Any two courses and their labs from the Biological & Physical Sciences list.

Mathematics
MAT 142, MAT 144, MAT 151, or any MAT course above 151.

Social & Behavioral Sciences
Complete courses from at least two different prefixes in this category.

* Students who complete an AGEC-A and then change their major and wish to apply the AGEC-A toward a degree program requiring the AGEC-B or AGEC-S, must complete the mathematics or science courses defined within that new degree program.  However, the other general education requirements are fulfilled by the AGEC-A.
