Paralegal

Learn more about paralegal careers

Start an exciting career as a paralegal!  As a paralegal, you might investigate and organize the facts of a legal case, research relevant laws, or draft legal documents and help prepare a legal case for trial.

You will work directly under the supervision of an attorney (in Arizona, this supervision is from a member of the State Bar of Arizona). Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public; however, paralegals are qualified through education, training or work experience to perform legal work delegated by an attorney.

Employment opportunities for paralegals are excellent; the paralegal profession is one of the fastest growing careers in the country. Paralegals work in private law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, banks and publishing companies.

Pima's Paralegal Program

At Pima, your paralegal studies lead to either an Associate of Applied Science Degree or Post-Degree Certificate. Both programs are approved by the American Bar Association, and both programs may include a paralegal internship as an elective.

As a graduate of the program, you will have a solid foundation in legal procedures and research, and be well prepared for entry-level paralegal positions in specialized areas of law. The internship program gives you hands-on experience under the guidance of professionals in law firms and legal departments in government and industry.
