PCC Fall Sports Oct. 29 – Nov. 4

The Pima Community College volleyball and cross country teams will compete in Regional playoffs this week and the football team will travel to Thatcher. The basketball teams finish up their preseason scrimmage schedules while the baseball team closes out its fall schedule.

The men’s basketball team will kick off the week hosting two scrimmages at the West Campus’ Aztec Gym on Wednesday. The Aztecs will play Impact Academy at 5:30 p.m. and Westwind Prep at 7:30 p.m.

The cross country teams will compete in the NJCAA Region I Championships at Freestone Park in Gilbert, AZ on Thursday. The women’s race will begin at 10 a.m. and the men will follow at 10:45 a.m. The volleyball team will play in the Region I, Division II playoffs at Glendale Community College. The Aztecs, a No. 3 seed, will play No. 2 Phoenix College at 5 p.m. to begin the double elimination tournament.

The women’s basketball team will be part of the Eastern Arizona Tournament on Thursday and Friday in Thatcher. On Thursday, the Aztecs play Frank Phillips College (Texas) at 1 p.m. On Friday, they’ll play South Plains College (Texas) at 1 p.m.

The men’s basketball team will start play in the Eastern Arizona Tournament in Thatcher on Friday. The Aztecs will play Impact Academy at 3 p.m. On Saturday, Pima will play the Tucson All-Stars team at 11 a.m.

The football team, coming off a bye week, will play at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher on Saturday at 6 p.m.

The baseball team will play in Douglas against Cochise College on Friday at 11 a.m. and will close out its fall schedule on Saturday at Arizona Western College in Yuma at 11 a.m.
