RSVP deadline for Multicultural Convocation for 2012 graduates extended to May 1

The deadline for 2012 graduates to RSVP for Multicultural Convocation has been extended to May 1.

Multicultural Convocation is a smaller, more intimate annual event for all PCC graduates in a given year, and includes a free dinner for graduates and guests, music, entertainment and a short ceremony.

The event starts with a dinner at 5 p.m., on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Pima Community College’s West Campus. [Learn more]

Graduates must RSVP to cyebra@pima.edu by Tuesday, May 1, in order to participate.  Just let us know your name, email, phone number and how many will be attending!

Three Class of 2012 members have been chosen to speak at this year’s Multicultural Convocation:

  • Marci Robledo is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She is earning two certificates and an Associate of Arts: Associate of Arts in Anthropology; Certificate in Field Archaeology Field and Lab Fundamentals; and Certificate in Field Archaeology Southwestern Cultures
  • Berenice Terán Parra is receiving two associate degrees, an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and an Associate of General Studies, as well as an Arizona General Education Curriculum Certificate-Arts in Liberal Arts.
  • Wendy M. Turner is receiving an Associate in General Studies degree. She also works for PCC in the Office of Grants, Planning and Institutional Research.

Speakers are chosen by a subcommittee of the Graduation Committee, based on applications, interviews and recitations of their draft speeches.
