College picks three to speak at Multicultural Convocation for graduates on May 3, 2012

PCC has chosen three students to be speakers at its Multicultural Convocation celebration on Thursday, May 3, 2012.
The three students and the degrees and certificates each will receive are:
- Marci Robledo is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She is earning two certificates and an Associate of Arts: Associate of Arts in Anthropology; Certificate in Field Archaeology Field and Lab Fundamentals; and Certificate in Field Archaeology Southwestern Cultures
- Berenice Terán Parra is receiving two associate degrees, an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and an Associate of General Studies, as well as an Arizona General Education Curriculum Certificate-Arts in Liberal Arts.
- Wendy M. Turner is receiving an Associate in General Studies degree. She also works for PCC in the Office of Grants, Planning and Institutional Research.
Speakers are chosen by a subcommittee of the Graduation Committee, based on applications, interviews and recitations of their draft speeches.
Multicultural Convocation is a smaller, more intimate annual event for all PCC graduates in a given year. It is designed to celebrate graduates academic achievement and cultural diversity. It is open to all Graduates.
The event is on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at Pima Community College’s West Campus. [Learn more]
Participants will receive Diversity Sashes, which they are encouraged to wear to Graduation on Thursday, May 17, 2012.
