PCC’s AmeriCorps Participates in MLK Day of Service, Jan. 21

Tucson, AZ – Members of Pima Community College’s AmeriCorps program are partnering with the Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The focus of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Jan. 21 is literacy and the spirit of service.

 Service activities include: collecting books for a book drive, collecting and compiling civil rights stories, quilting, book sorting, building bookshelves for home libraries, writing letters to thank our troops, gathering audio recordings to create audio cards for the visually impaired, decorating reusable bags for local book share programs and hosting a blood drive.
