PCC Fashion Club Students Give Handmade Wraps, Bags to Health Center
December 6, 2012
Tucson, AZ –Pima Community College’s West Campus Fashion Association Club will deliver handmade polar fleece shawl wraps and walker bags to the Park Avenue Health & Rehabilitation Center at 10 a.m. Dec. 7.
PCC’s Fashion Design students designed and sewed more than 50 gifts to give to the residents at the healthcare center.
“We can sometimes get caught up in our own hectic holiday shopping schedule that we forget that this is the season of giving,” said Nancy Spaulding, PCC’s Fashion Association Club faculty advisor. “We wanted to design something to give to the residents that they could really use.”
The students also will decorate cookies, sing Christmas carols and visit with the residents. “We just want them to know that someone cares,” said Spaulding.
