Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College Music presents the PCC Orchestra in a concert, under the direction of Dr. Alexander Tentser. The program features Mozart's “Symphony #34," and the “Overture" to the opera "The Marriage of Figaro."

Other program selections include J.S. Bach's “Brandenburg Sinfonia,” and Arcangelo Corelli’s “Concerto Grosso #8,” called the "Christmas Concerto" because it was composed for this occasion. The concert ends with the "South American Overture" arranged by Merle Isaak.

The PCC Orchestra comprises college students and community adults. Tentser came to America in 1990, after graduating from the highly recognized Russian Music Academy in Moscow. He conducted the production of the oratorio "Esther" with the Jill Wieck Singers and Orchestra in March 2009 in Tucson. He directs the PCC Orchestra, conducts Arizona Balalaika Orchestra and teaches piano and other music courses at the West and Desert Vista campuses.
