PCC, TUSD Sponsor Third Annual PARENT UNIVERSITY

Tucson, AZ – Maricopa County Regional School District Superintendent Ernest Rose and PCC East Campus Vice President of Student Services Dr. Nancee Sorenson are the guest lecturers at the third annual PARENT UNIVERSITY: “Changing Lives, Building Community” on Saturday, Nov. 3.
The event at Catalina Magnet High School, 3645 E. Pima St., is a collaboration between Pima Community College and Tucson Unified School District Multicultural Student Services Department. It is designed to inform TUSD parents, guardians, grandparents, and students elementary age and older about pathways to college and a career.
The event will feature more than 10 workshops on succeeding in school and life. Topics include financial aid options for the entire family, college athletics, University of Arizona, Northern Arizona University, empowerment, leadership and deciding on a career. Registration for PARENT UNIVERSITY starts at 8:30 a.m. Keynote speakers begin at 9:30 a.m., and the workshops immediately will follow.
