June 7, 2012

Tucson, AZ -- Keith W. “Mac” McIntosh, an Air Force veteran who has managed computer networks, data and communications for more than 25 years, has been named Vice Chancellor for Information Technology at Pima Community College.

Mr. McIntosh, who has served as PCC’s Acting Assistant Vice Chancellor for Information Technology since April 2011, will begin his new duties on June 21, pending approval by the PCC Governing Board.

Mr. McIntosh was selected from a field of 25 candidates who applied for the position, which pays a salary of $148,188 a year. Mr. McIntosh and two other finalists participated in employee forums at PCC in May and June.

“Keith has the experience and expertise we need to oversee one of the College’s most critically important departments,” Interim Chancellor Dr. Suzanne Miles said. “The can-do work ethic and leadership skills he developed while serving in our armed forces for 25 years will help us expand and enhance the services we provide students and the community.”

Mr. McIntosh served in the Air Force from 1983-2008 in numerous information technology capacities in the U.S. and abroad, including tours in Osan and Yongsan, Korea; Kirkuk, Iraq; and at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson. He was hired at PCC in 2008 as Director of Technical Services.

Mr. McIntosh has a Master of Business Administration degree in Information Technology Management from Trident University International in Cypress, Calif. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Neb., and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems Technology from Community College of the Air Force in Montgomery, Ala.

In October 2011 Mr. McIntosh received a Rising Star Award for exceptional leadership and accomplishment in information technology from EDUCAUSE, a nonprofit association of more than 2,000 colleges and universities.  He also is a 2012 Frye Leadership Institute Fellow.
