Executive Search Firm Finalists to Present at PCC Governing Board Meeting June 20
June 19, 2012
Tucson, AZ -- Three organizations seeking to help Pima Community College find candidates to be Chancellor will make presentations at Wednesday's meeting of the PCC Board of Governors.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. in the Community Board Room (C-105) at PCC's District Office, 4905 E. Broadway.
Schedule to present:
- Narcisa Polonio, Ed.D., Association of Community College Trustees
- Dr. Preston Pulliams, Gold Hill Associates
- Elizabeth Rocklin, R.H. Perry & Associates
The three finalists were recommended by a screening committee that included College and external members. The screening committee reviewed responses to a Request for Proposal that the College posted on April 26 to identify an executive search firm through competitive bidding. Bids were due May 30.
"The Board's goal is to have the best-possible list of candidates to choose from," Board Chairman Scott Stewart said. "Hiring an executive search firm will allow us to expand the pool of candidates beyond those individuals actively seeking a new job. Often, the best candidates aren't currently looking for work."
The College hopes to select a search firm by July 1.
In April, the Board outlined a robust, transparent process for selecting a new Chancellor, including the creation of a webpage that serves as a clearinghouse for information related to the search, including updates, documents related to the search, answers to frequently asked questions, and other resources.
On Feb. 29, the Board named Dr. Suzanne Miles Interim Chancellor. Dr. Miles will not seek the permanent chancellor's position.
