PCC Offers GED Testing at Three New Sites

May 22, 2012

Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College is making it easier for Pima County residents to receive a General Education Development (GED) diploma.

The Arizona Department of Education recently approved PCC to expand its GED testing services offered at its Community Campus, 401 N. Bonita Ave., to also offer services at the Desert Vista Campus, 5901 S. Calle Santa Cruz; East Campus, 8181 E. Irvington Road; and Northwest Campus, 7600 N. Shannon Road.

Anyone wishing to register and take the GED test may do so at any one of the four locations.  The registration fee to take the GED test is $100.

Chelsea James, the GED testing coordinator at PCC, said “this expansion improves community access to GED services and allows the College to increase testing capacity.”

According to a recent report from the Arizona Department of Education, Arizona adults who passed the GED test and received their credential earn approximately $8,580 more annually than those without a high school credential.

Free GED preparation classes also are available through PCC Adult Education.  For more information, call 206-6433 or go to www.pima.edu/ged.
