PCC Hosts Fashion Show “Electric Night” May 4

May 3, 2012

Tucson, AZ -- Pima Community College’s Fashion Design students are hosting a fashion show that is sure to light up the runway.

The Friday evening show – “Electric Night” – will feature student designed and sewn fashions including bridal and formal wear, digitally printed garments and fiber optic apparel -- plus a live D.J.

The fashion show will showcase the work of PCC’s Fashion Design students (in collaboration with Digital Fashion Design and Digital Arts students) throughout the 2011-2012 school year.

Generous awards from local sponsors and sponsors from the Los Angeles Fashion District will be awarded to winners of the judged categories.  Several salons in the Tucson area have volunteered to do hair and makeup for the runway models.

The student fashion club also will be holding a drawing for several gift baskets and dresses.  Those proceeds will be donated to Wings for Women, an organization that serves homeless women and children in Tucson.

“Supporting women in need really hit home for a lot of our students,” said Nancy Spaulding, Fashion Design Instructor.  “They want to generate awareness for Wings for Women’s very important mission.”
