April 3, 2012
Tucson, AZ – Veteran Pima Community College teacher and administrator Deborah Yoklic has been named Acting Vice President of Instruction at PCC’s East Campus.
Ms. Yoklic will fill the position temporarily vacated by Dr. Lorraine Morales, who last month was named Acting President of PCC’s Community Campus.
Ms. Yoklic has been employed at PCC since 1983. She has served as a full-time member of the College’s Mathematics faculty, as well as Acting Dean for Languages and Social Sciences at West Campus, and Chair of the Mathematics and Engineering Department at East Campus.
For the past two years, Ms. Yoklic has served as Assistant Vice Chancellor in the Office of the Chancellor. As Assistant Vice Chancellor, she supervised compilation and analysis of data related to PCC’s adoption of new admission standards.
“Debbie brings a wealth of experience to the role of Acting Vice President for Instruction,” said Acting Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Charlotte Fugett, who announced the appointment last week in an email to PCC faculty and staff. “She has a wonderful background at the College, and has served on numerous College committees and in faculty leadership and administrative roles.”
Ms. Yoklic has a master’s degree in Mathematics, with a minor in Higher Education, from the University of Arizona, and has pursued additional studies in statistics, accounting and counseling. She received a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Brandeis University.
East Campus served approximately 14,000 students in Fiscal Year 2011 and is home to PCC’s Pharmacy Technology, EMT-Basic Certificate, Administration of Justice and Veterinary Technology programs.
