PCC to Host C-SPAN’s Campaign 2012 Bus at Two Campuses
March 6, 2012
Tucson, AZ – Pima Community College will host C-SPAN’s Campaign 2012 Bus, which provides an inside look at the upcoming elections as well as C-SPAN educational and civic resources, at two campuses this week.
On Wednesday, March 7, the bus will be at West Campus, 2202 W. Anklam Road, in the South Parking Lot near the Tucson Building (Building H), from 1:30-3 p.m.
On Thursday, March 8, the bus will be at East Campus, 8181 E. Irvington Road, in the parking lot in front of the Student Center, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
“The bus is a great opportunity for our students, employees and first-time voters to learn about candidates, campaigns and the electoral process, and to connect with a variety of educational resources,” says PCC Interim Chancellor Dr. Suzanne Miles.
The bus is an interactive classroom where visitors can take quizzes, learn about the C-SPAN website, and how C-SPAN resources -- including 170,000 hours of searchable video -- can help with class assignments and research papers.
“With the presidential campaign heating up, this is a great time for C-SPAN to hit the road with the Campaign 2012 Bus,” says C-SPAN’s Jenny Marland. “C-SPAN offers a variety of public affairs programming and resources for educators, students and the public.”
