Registration Underway for Spring 2012 Classes at PCC
November 9, 2011
Tucson, AZ – Registration for the Spring Semester at Pima Community College kicked off three days ago and already more than 7,000 students have signed up for classes.
And whether they’re taking algebra or welding, the vast majority of those students registered without ever having to visit one of Pima’s six campuses.
“Pima has seen a steady increase in online registration and this year is no different,” said Dr. Suzanne Miles, the college’s provost and executive vice chancellor. “Approximately 86 percent of the 7,007 students who have already registered for Spring Semester classes did so with a keyboard and mouse, not a pen or paper.”
PCC’s Spring 2012 Semester starts on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. Registration began Monday, Nov. 7.
Pima has more than 3,835 active courses in more than 100 programs leading to two-year associate degrees in arts, business, science and general studies, as well as applied arts and applied science.
Certificates and post-degree certificates also are available, some of which can be completed in as little as two months. During the 2009-10 academic year, Pima granted more two-year certificates than any other two-year college in the United States.
Pima’s Spring 2012 Schedule of Classes was published last week and is available at numerous locations around Tucson or online.
Pima is closed Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, for Veterans Day, but students still may register online. The last day to add full-term Spring semester classes is Jan. 23.
