Call for Public Comments: PCC Renewal of Accreditation
June 1, 2010
Pima Community College will undergo a comprehensive evaluation visit Sept. 13-15, 2010, by a team representing The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The College is one of approximately 1,100 institutions of higher education currently accredited by the HLC, which is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Since Spring of 2007, the College has been engaged in a process of self-study, addressing the HLC’s requirements and criteria for accreditation.
The evaluation team will visit the College to gather evidence that the College’s Institutional Self-Study Report is thorough and accurate. As part of its visit, the team may interview College employees.
The team will recommend to the HLC a continuing status for the college; following a review, the HLC itself will take the final action.
The public is invited to submit comments regarding the College.
Third-party comments can be submitted to the HLC via a website form at http://www.ncahlc.org/information-for-the-public/third-party-comment.html.
Third parties also can mail written comments to the following address:

Comments will not be treated as confidential.
Individuals with a specific dispute or grievance with the College should request the separate Policy on Complaints document from the HLC, which cannot settle disputes between institutions and individuals. Complaints will not be considered third-party comment.
