Following the determination of FTE allocations and the announcement of faculty allocations on All College Day to the College-wide Discipline Area Committees (CDACs), the following process will be followed: - District Human Resources (HR) sends draft faculty position announcements to Campus Presidents by August 31.
- Campus Presidents share the draft faculty position announcements with appropriate campus faculty and deans by September 5 for review and revision.
- Campus Presidents return faculty position announcements to District HR by September 15.
- District HR announces lateral transfer process, as specified in Article
VIII A of the Faculty Personnel Policy Statement, through September 30. - Campus Presidents conduct and coordinate interviews for lateral transfers following the steps identified in Article VIII of the Faculty Personnel Policy Statement by October 5.
- Campus Presidents identify lateral transfers and inform District HR by October 10.
- If following the first transfer process a resulting vacancy in the same discipline with a different emphasis than the initial position announcement is approved for recruitment, a revised update announcement will be forwarded to faculty for their attention as specified in Article VIIIA of the Faculty Personnel Policy Statement
- One more lateral transfer process is conducted if necessary including sharing faculty position announcements with campus faculty and deans by October 20.
- Campus Presidents finalize all lateral transfers and send to District HR by October 25.
- The external recruitment process begins by October 30 and is conducted by District HR.
- If following the transfer process a resulting vacancy in the same discipline with a different emphasis than the initial position announcement is approved for recruitment, a revised update announcement will be forwarded to faculty for their attention as specified in Article IIIA of the Faculty Personnel Policy Statement.
- The Chancellor and Provost identify administrative chairs for faculty advisory committees by November 5. (exchanged old 11 and 12)
- Campus Presidents schedule approximate dates and times for giving charge to faculty advisory committees in late January or early February by November 15.
- Campus Presidents identify members of the faculty advisory committees selected according to Article III of the Faculty Personnel Policy Statement, confirm that members wish to serve, and send list(s) to District HR by November 15.
- District HR sends proposed list of faculty advisory committee membership to the PCCEA President no later than November 30.
- Faculty advisory committees receive charge from Campus Presidents at a meeting (that was determined in early November) to be held after 3 pm Monday through Friday by February 5.
- Campus Presidents must attend teaching demonstrations, conduct final interviews and meet with the advisory committee to review the strengths and weaknesses of each candidate by April 30. The President may include other administrators in the final interview.
- Campus Presidents will identify a candidate to move forward to the Chancellor for final approval by May 15.
- Campus Presidents will notify the Chancellor and the Advisory Committee if a search has failed to identify a qualified applicant by May 15.
- If a search has failed to identify a qualified candidate, a new search will begin the following fall and follow the same process if the position is again authorized in the faculty FTE allocations process.

If the College authorizes a recruitment outside of this cycle, the same elements with dates modified accordingly as outlined in the Standard Practice Guide will be followed from the point of the allocation of the position. As part of Step 1, members of the CDAC will be provided with a timeline showing target dates for the out-of-cycle recruitment(s).
