The General Education Committee is a committee, which recommends to the College Curriculum Council and reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Services.  The General Education Committee:

1. recommends the general education models for transfer degrees (the associate of arts and the associate of science) and for the occupational degrees (the associate of applied arts and the associate of applied science) to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Services.

2. evaluates general education proposals based on criteria established for each category and based on the general education model.

The courses fulfilling general education categories are recommended for approval by the General Education Committee.  Additions, deletions, and modifications to the course lists are recommended by the General Education Committee to the College Curriculum Council.  The College Curriculum Council insures the integration of the general education courses into the College's curriculum.  The College Curriculum Council recommends the additions, deletions, and modifications to the general education course lists to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Educational Services for approval.
